Here’s the 411 on Hidden Money in Your Used Phone Book.
Don’t Trash It! Cash It In For Fun!

You can help keep unnecessary paper from area landfills and enjoy a discount to the Tennessee Aquarium and IMAX 3D Theater. Phonebook paper is made of 100 percent recyclable paper which is used to make . . . new phonebooks.

AT&T Real Yellow Pages and the Tennessee Aquarium have partnered to help you recycle your outdated phone books in Chattanooga. It’s simple. Just bring your old phone books to the Tennessee Aquarium or IMAX 3D Theater August 8th and 9th, 2008 to save up to $10 off an admission. There will be bins or boxes for recycling directories at each venue. Drop your old phone books off and get a coupon for $2 off each ticket for up to five people good through December 31, 2008. You can also save 10% off a membership (up to $10); limit one phone book offer per membership.

  • The Tennessee Aquarium is located at One Broad Street, Chattanooga. The Aquarium is open both days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

  • The IMAX 3D Theater is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas day. Visit http://www.tnaqua.org/IMAX/IMAX_schedule.asp  for show schedules.

 FUN FACTS:

  • AT&T Real Yellow Pages are 100 percent recyclable and the paper used to print the directories contains 40 percent recycled materials.

  • Phone books can be recycled into products like paper towels, cereal boxes, newsprint, drywall, paper egg cartons, home insulation and new directories.

  • When the print book isn’t handy, consumers can visit www.yellowpages.com. The YELLOWPAGES.COM network was referenced more than 1 billion times last year.

It all adds up! - It has been estimated for each 500 phone books recycled, we save 17 to 31 trees; 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space; nearly 7,000 gallons of water; and enough power to serve an average home for 6 months!
