Chattanooga, Tenn. (May 2, 2013) The Tennessee Aquarium hit a social media milestone, reaching 10,000 Twitter followers on May 1st – the Aquarium’s 21st Anniversary. The Aquarium’s Twitter feed was launched in October of 2008. Followers of @TNAquarium receive visitor tips, information about conservation, special event and bargain updates as well as behind the scenes photos and videos. The Aquarium also frequently shares Chattanooga tourism news as well as thought-provoking regional, national and international stories related to nature and the environment.

In addition to Facebook YouTube and Twitter, Tennessee Aquarium fans can now interact with the Chattanooga attraction on Cinemagram, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and Vine.

The Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute (TNACI) also shares updates about field conservation efforts on Twitter (@TNACIGoGreen), Facebook and via “Field Notes,” the TNACI blog.

While there’s always something new and exciting happening at the Tennessee Aquarium, IMAX 3D Theater and River Gorge Explorer, there may soon be several more reasons to connect. Three pairs of macaroni penguins are currently incubating eggs and the 2013 nesting season just began on April 1st.
