A group of tenth grade students from Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy recently attended a workshop led by female scientists at the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute. During their visit, the students toured propagation facilities and were shown tools for demonstrating the dangers of point source and non-point source water pollution.
These students were participants in an ongoing mentorship hosted by Tennessee American Water. This yearlong program is designed to introduce girls to the wealth of opportunities for entering fields associated with science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
