Collecting Sticks and Stones to Make Animals Feel at Home

One of the most important features of our habitats that makes the animals feel comfortable is the use of natural vegetation and substrate (the material lining the bottom of waterways) to accurately represent their home in the wild. Join our senior aquarist for a trip to the Tellico River to collect some of this set dressing from the wild for use in an upcoming exhibit on the aquatic life in the Upper Tennessee River system.
