Little Penguin Explores Its Home For The First Time

With what can only be described as awe, our nine-week-old Macaroni Chick explored outside its nesting site in Penguins’ Rock for the first time!

After successfully passing a swim test and with a nearly complete set of adult feathers, this little bird now can safely move about the gallery. For a few days, the chick and its parents will be moved off exhibit at night but should be reintroduced to the colony full time in a few days.
