Every year, the Tennessee Aquarium’s River Teachers workshops bring regional educators together with scientists at the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute. During their week together, participating teachers develop new freshwater science curricula based on a packed schedule of classwork, certification and field exercises.
Recently, educators from five states traveled to South Chickamauga Creek near Chattanooga, Tennessee, to learn how to conduct water quality tests and to collect and study fish and aquatic macroinvertebrates.
