Watch a CRITICALLY ENDANGERED Turtle Hatch From Its Egg!

When our herpetologists checked in on a pair of incubating Four-eyed Turtle eggs, he noticed one already had hatched but the second turtle was still in the earliest stages of emerging. We managed to setup a camera to record the whole process (which took hours) and condensed it down to a bite-sized bit of cuteness! This species is listed as critically endangered, but the Tennessee Aquarium has successfully hatched dozens of these turtles, helping to bolster the population in human care and better safeguarding the Four-eyed Turtle from the possibility of extinction.
