Sarah Kate Bailey

Reintroduction Biologist

Area of Expertise: Animal Husbandry, Fisheries Science

Sarah Kate earned her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2018. She spent her time in undergrad conducting fieldwork, completing an internship with tilapia and working as an Aquarium educator. Upon graduation, Sarah Kate began to work as an aquarist at Ripley’s Aquarium, where she cared for freshwater, saltwater and terrestrial animals. Sarah Kate’s career goal has always been to work in conservation science, so she was excited to join the Tennessee Aquarium Conservation Institute team in 2021. As a Reintroduction Biologist, Sarah Kate oversees the propagation of freshwater fishes and their reintroduction into their native habitats.

 

Fun fact about me: I have a 5-legged axolotl!

Favorite holiday: Halloween. I love anything spooky!

Hobbies: Crafting, paddle boarding, playing video games and scuba diving
