Because much of an otter’s life is scent-driven, you will frequently see the Aquarium’s otters playing a game of hide-and-smell. The animals will scent mark their favorite locations and Aquarium experts will occasionally introduce treats and new scents for the otters to discover.

Where are the otters?
River Otters are notoriously energetic, but as crepuscular animals, they are most active at dawn and dusk. They spend about 12 hours each day resting, so they may be napping out of view. Check out our new "Nap Cam" views to see if they're hiding in their favorite snooze spots.
