With over 29 identified subspecies, it’s very possible you’ve seen a Postman Butterfly, as they’re one of the most common butterflies of their genus (family). However, because many of them have developed ways to mimic other butterflies, it’s possible you’ve seen a relative of this particular kind of butterfly as well. As pupa they trick possible predators, as they look like dead leaves hanging from branches. When they reach adulthood, these butterflies can live at least 6 months--a long time for a butterfly!
