Today, Sept. 1, 2021, a nearly 50-year saga in the infamous case of the Snail Darter came to a happy ending with a petition to delist it as an Endangered Species. On this momentous occasion, we chatted with our Vice President of Conservation Science and Education, Dr. Anna George, about the history of this landmark case in environmental law and the lessons to be gleaned from the species’ long-awaited recovery.
