Small-mouth Buffalo Migration, the Southeast’s Answer to the Salmon Run

Sure, the Pacific Northwest is well-known for the spectacle of its salmon runs, but did you realize the Southeast is host to its own enormous fish migrations? Every spring, tens of thousands of Small-mouth Buffalo push into small streams like Tennessee’s Citico Creek to spawn billions of eggs. Seeing these enormous fish crowding the water to maximum capacity is a sight to behold, one of which relatively few Southerners are even aware!
